Day Seventeen

We woke up today in San Diego, checked our of our motel and headed over to the Broken Yolk Cafe, which is supposedly one of the best places to get breakfast in the area. It's a chain, with like 7 locations, and I think we went to the newest one. I don't know.

I got an omelette with beef chorizo, jalopenos and salsa & guac on top.

After lunch, we toured around a bit then headed over to Coronado, an island-ish thing just west of San Diego, where I set foot in the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Just like the Atlantic.

We had a reservation for 4 p.m. at Lucha Libre, so we drove over there and wandered around again and came across a cool bar called the Regal Beagle, really near the restaurant.

We went to the restaurant and sat at the Champions Booth, which I had reserved. It was worth the phone call.

I got two tacos and could only eat like one and a half. One was chicken, guac, salsa, poblano sauce and lettuce; the other was the same, but with french fries instead of chicken. Weird, but good.

We drove over to Petco Park, where we had tickets for Rockies @ Padres.

The stadium is nice, with waterfalls at the entrance and ivy decorating the halls.

They had some naval display, since San Diego is really big with the navy.

Stadium shot.

Jamie Moyer being awesome and tossing a three year old a ball. The kid couldn't catch it, so he kept throwing it back to Jamie, and Jamie would toss it again. The kid caught it on the third try.

Meanwhile, this guy didn't listen to anyone in the crowd and didn't give a different young kid a ball. Terrible.

Center field display.

Rockies SP Drew Pomeranz. He hit a home run! Too bad he got hit in the leg and had to get taken out.

Padres SP Edinson Volquez.

Literally the only vocal Padres fans all game.

There had to be less than 5,000 people in the stadium, but there were birds! This picture is dark, but you can see them better this way.

Kotsay's Korner.

Todd Helton, my all-time favorite Rockie.

The Beach, in center field: just sand for kids to play in. Weird.

Go Tacos!

The Petco pets showed up and gave out something. I don't know what.

Pads win! Win #10! Terrible!
