I just finished mapping out the rough draft of where I'll be going on the trip. I'll be leaving my house on April 21 and returning May 29.

Hood, Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Chimney Rock, Badlands)
  • ... Mt. Rushmore
  • ... Graceland
  • ... 22 new major cities (Knoxville, Nashville, New Orleans, Austin, San Antonio [FIESTA!], Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, Portland, Kansas City, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh)
  • ... 2 new halls of fame (Pro Football, Rock and Roll)

Map (First Draft)

Here's the map I got from Amazon on which I'll plot my trip, as well as the first round of pushpins of possible destinations.

Red pins are MLB stadiums I haven't gone to.
Yellow pins are where I have friends that I could visit.
Green are roadside attraction type of things (like the Cabazon dinosaurs!).
Blue are national parks or other areas of interest (Graceland, Las Vegas, etc.)

Introduction

Before September, I had never been more west than, like, Philadelphia. In September, I flew to Minneapolis. That's the extent of my non-Atlantic state experience.

With money saved up, time on my hands and the ambition to do it, I'm going to visit as much of the United States as I can over a five week stretch of time, between (tentatively) April 23 and May 28.

All I have planned out so far is that I definitely want to hit the Grand Canyon, Four Corners, Graceland, Mount Rushmore, San Diego, and as many MLB stadiums and appetizing Man vs. Food locations as I can.

It's gonna be a costly trip, but one I'll never forget. I cannot wait.
